The Library Jam!
The Library Jam, held for the first time in 2023, is returning! This year the jam will take place from 11 to 13 of April at Kajaani main library.
The dates and times are:
Thursday (11.4.2024): 17:00 – 19:30
Friday (12.4.2024): 10:00 – 19:30
Saturday (13.4.2024): 10:00 – 14:00
The idea behind the library game jam is to make a game based on drawings made by the children. During the jams, visitors to the library can come and see how games are made.
If you want to participate in the jams, please fill out the form below to apply. There are a limited number of slots for the jammers, and due to the nature of the jam, everyone might not be selected to join.

Indie Beer Kajaani!
Indie Beer Kajaani is a monthly gathering that brings together indie game developers and those interested in the gaming industry in a relaxed atmosphere at Kulma.
With no official organizer, the event is based on a community agreement to meet every first Friday of the month at 6 PM. It offers a unique opportunity for networking, idea sharing, and enjoying good company and drinks.
Indie Beer Kajaani is open to everyone interested in the gaming field, providing an excellent chance to meet like-minded individuals and share a passion for indie games.

IGDA March Meet-up!
Join IGDA at Kulma, for an informal get-together where you will get to catch up with fellow community members and unwind after a long day. There are no planned activities, HOWEVER, they do have a small announcement to share with everyone..
The IGDA March Meet-up will be taking place in Rock House Kulma, on 26.03.2024, starting at 18:00, up until 21:00!

It’s time for the biggest Game Jam of the year again! Finnish Game Jam, as a part of the Global Game Jam, brings together developers from all over the world to make games in 48 hours!
Community Events for Developers
Kajaani has a vibrant game development scene, with over 70 events every year! The events range from fun leisure time activities, like roleplaying and board game clubs, to professional networking and lecture events aimed at bettering the skills of everyone in the community. Game Jams
Kajaani has around 5 Game Jams yearly, from the yearly Finnish Game Jam site hosted by IGDA Kajaani at the Kajaani University of Applied Sciences campus, to smaller jams with interesting twists! Follow IGDA Kajaani on Instagram to get the latest news on upcoming game jams!
Student events
Kajaksi Game Collective, IGDA Kajaani and the student union KAMO host a number of yearly events for students! The year for new students often begins with the traditional “kattilaituri” event at the end of summer!
