Kajaani is the birthplace of Finnish game development education, as KAMK launched its first degree program in 2006. Since then, Kajaani has been the pioneer in the scene and has created success stories for almost 20 years. Now the new wave of game companies is being built.
Kajaani has the highest density of game companies per capita, which makes the name GameCity Kajaani. In Kainuu, the whole county, people believe in hands-on work over hype words. That work makes the numbers and the success stories.
